There are approximately 24 million students enrolled in higher education, 2.85 million of which are enrolled exclusively in online programs. While this segment of fully online enrollments currently represents ~12% of higher education enrollments today, enrollments in online graduate programs are expected to crest 30% of all graduate students. Furthermore, while overall participation in higher education is declining, enrollment in online programs is increasing. This modality can no longer be viewed as incremental; rather, universities must start viewing online students as a core, growing, and necessary population that must be served.

These statistics underscore the growing importance of online programs and are likely the cause of the skyrocketing importance of systems integration and data analytics noted in Eduventures' most recent Online Program Management Market Analysis.  In this session, John Katzman will discuss both the need for systems integration and data analytics and approaches to achieving data transparency across online and campus based programs.
